Atualmente, as doenças neurológicas são um dos fatores mais importantes na mortalidade. Entre as doenças neurológicas, incluindo as doenças nervosas mortais, destaca-se a dislexia. A doença é causada por mutações nos genes das células nervosas. Mas os fatores epigenéticos também têm um papel importante na capacidade de induzir a doença. Neste estudo, analisámos 50 pessoas. 10 pacientes com dislexia e 10 pessoas do grupo de controlo. Os genes DCDC2, KIAA0319, DYX1C1 foram analisados em termos de mutações genéticas. Neste estudo, as pessoas que apresentavam mutações genéticas foram alvo de distúrbios nervosos, doença de Moyamoya. De facto, de todas as pessoas com dislexia, 10 pacientes com dislexia apresentavam mutações genéticas nos genes DCDC2, KIAA0319 e DYX1C1. O grupo de controlo não apresentou quaisquer mutações genéticas nos genes alvo.
