Często również w rodzinach nie uprawia się już muzyki, dlatego nauczyciel powinien dawać dzieciom przykład radości z muzykowania. Badanie przeprowadzone w nowej szkole średniej pokazuje, że w przypadku większości praktyk muzycznych występują różnice w częstotliwości ich wykonywania. Przeanalizowano również życzenia uczniów dotyczące lekcji muzyki i postrzegania treści nauczania.
