L’obiettivo era quello di determinare la produttività (P) e l’efficienza (E) dell’acqua (A) utilizzata nella produzione di latte bovino, sia in termini fisici (F), economici (E) e sociali (S) nel Distretto di Sviluppo Rurale (RDD) Laguna-Coahuila, Messico, in allevamenti da latte a bassa (LRV) e alta resa (HRV), utilizzando una metodologia economica basata sull’uso di equazioni matematiche alimentate con dati su scala commerciale. I risultati, per entrambi i tipi di mandrie da latte, nello stesso ordine, hanno mostrato i seguenti indici: PFA 0,385 e 0,6864 litri di latte per m3 d’acqua, PEA aveva 12.731 e 22.698 dollari di profitto per hm3 d’acqua, PSA era lo stesso indice in entrambe le mandrie 1.000 posti di lavoro per hm3, PSA 1.000 posti di lavoro per hm3.059 posti di lavoro per hm3, i loro inversi, gli indici di efficienza dell’acqua utilizzata nella produzione, erano i seguenti: 2.600 e 1.459 litri di acqua per litro di latte nella PEA, mentre nella AEA c’erano 78,55 e 44,06 m3 per ogni USD di profitto, e nella PSA era lo stesso indicatore 944.273 m3 per ogni posto di lavoro generato.
