Vegetable production in protected houses is an alternative method to avoid the problems in the open-field such as high sensitivity of vegetable crops to climatic changes, hazard use of chemical pesticide which resulted high residue in product in addition to continues re infestation from other fields. On the other hand, the favorable conditions for some pests (mites, whiteflies, thrips, leaf-miners, aphids) and diseases under greenhouses need specific control programs depends mainly on non-chemical control agents like, natural products, natural enemies, sticky and pheromone traps. The major target of vegetables production using protected area is high quality product for local consumption and export markets according to international standards.
