Ziel der Untersuchung war es, die bevorzugten Dienstleistungsmarketingstrategien von Patienten italienischer Zahnkliniken zu ermitteln. Die Untersuchung bezog sich insbesondere auf die SDC-Kliniken (Studi Dentistici Cacciamani), eine italienische mittelgroße unabhängige Klinik in der nordwestlichen Provinz von Mailand. Es ist wichtig zu erwähnen, dass sich die italienische Zahnarztszene nach 2007, als das neue Bersani-Dekret in die italienische Gesetzgebung aufgenommen wurde, dramatisch verändert hat. Die Zahnärzte beginnen heute, den Druck von Franchise-Kliniken und Zahntourismus zu spüren, so dass sie unbedingt lernen müssen, mit denselben Karten zu spielen: Marketingtechniken und -strategien.
