These influences have also changed the respective objectives, content and teaching methods. Initially, the focus was on promoting military fitness, physical education, training obedient, healthy subjects and producing strong and fearless warriors. However, these objectives were replaced by the dual educational mandate of modern physical education, which includes education for and through sport.
