Este livro sugere que as tecnologias da informação e comunicação (TIC) podem ser utilizadas para apoiar os programas curriculares exigidos nos contextos educativos do ensino básico e secundário. Um estudo explorou as atitudes e perceções sobre a utilização de tecnologias de aprendizagem digital na educação. A metodologia integrou insights do ritmo da inovação tecnológica e dos modelos de aceitação da tecnologia para compreender a lógica de um maior investimento em TIC no ensino obrigatório. Uma análise quantitativa indicou que os educadores estavam empenhados em utilizar tecnologias digitais na escola. Este estudo mostrou que os professores mais jovens estavam cada vez mais envolvidos em recursos de aprendizagem digital. Da mesma forma, a investigação qualitativa revelou que os alunos valorizavam os recursos digitais. Eles consideravam que estavam a ver muitos benefícios se aprendessem a utilizar as tecnologias na escola. Em geral, os entrevistados afirmaram que os recursos de aprendizagem digital melhoraram os seus conhecimentos, habilidades e competências existentes, que eram relevantes para as suas perspetivas de emprego futuras.
