Il saggio che abbiamo redatto è articolato in quattro capitoli, ovvero: il contesto di introduzione dell’approccio per competenze, la rassegna della letteratura, i quadri teorici e concettuali e gli orientamenti dell’APC nel sistema educativo camerunese. Dopo aver constatato che, nonostante il messaggio del ministro dell’istruzione secondaria, che auspica l’applicazione dell’approccio per competenze (APC) al fine di rispondere alla visione di un Camerun emergente entro il 2035, l’APC viene applicato in modo solo parziale, se non del tutto, nel ciclo di orientamento delle scuole secondarie del Camerun. Ci siamo posti la seguente domanda di ricerca: in che modo l’approccio per competenze può contribuire al rinnovamento del sistema educativo camerunese? Il contesto di attuazione dell’APC nel sistema educativo camerunese è caratterizzato da problemi quali: il mancato coinvolgimento dell’intera comunità educativa, il problema della gestione della classe e quello della promozione collettiva, i libri di testo inadeguati.
