Cette étude vise à comprendre l’influence de l’engagement parental et de l’estime de soi sur la performance scolaire. Dans cette optique, un échantillon de 100 participants a été constitué par la technique d’échantillonnage par grappe. Celui-ci est composé de 50 élèves de CM2 de l’EPP Sogefiha 5 et de leurs parents respectifs, également au nombre de 50. Deux questionnaires et un entretien semi-directif leur ont été administrés. Le traitement des résultats s’est fait avec le t de Student pour échantillons indépendants et l’analyse de contenu. Les résultats obtenus ont confirmé nos deux premières hypothèses et ont infirmé la troisième. Ce travail de recherche permet d’attirer l’attention des parents sur les pratiques parentales favorisant la construction d’une estime de soi positive chez leur enfant, gage de meilleures performances scolaires.
