Diese Studie zielt darauf ab, den Einfluss metakognitiver Fähigkeiten und selbstregulierten Lernens auf die akademische Leistung von Studierenden im ersten Studienjahr zu verstehen. Zu diesem Zweck wurde an der Université Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan (Elfenbeinküste) eine Stichprobe von 140 Studierenden im ersten Studienjahr mithilfe der Cluster-Stichprobentechnik ausgewählt. Sie erhielten zwei Fragebögen, die sich auf verschiedene Variablen bezogen. Nach der Auswertung der Daten wurden die ermittelten Mittelwerte mit dem Student’s t-Test für unabhängige Stichproben in der Spss-Software verglichen. Die Ergebnisse bestätigten unsere Hypothesen. Das Interesse dieser Studie besteht darin, den Studierenden der Licence 1 die entscheidende Rolle zu vermitteln, die sie beim Aufbau ihres Wissens und beim Erwerb ausgezeichneter Fähigkeiten spielen. Die Studie soll auch die Lehrkräfte darauf aufmerksam machen, dass es dringend notwendig ist, den Studierenden Verantwortung zu übertragen und sie zunehmend selbstständig mit Lernaufgaben zu betrauen.
