Pedagogical differentiation is the set of measures a teacher can put in place to take account of differences between pupils. A product of the massification of education, it is one of the responses to the management of heterogeneity, seen as the symbol of current difficulties in teaching. In 2022, only 23% of primary school teachers felt they were well prepared for this aspect of their profession, and this was reflected in an undefined set of practices whose effects on learning were not necessarily positive.Managing heterogeneity through pedagogical differentiation is therefore an important issue. With this in mind, this research was carried out with 6 primary school teachers working in a reinforced priority education network, with the aim of studying the links between the representation of pupil heterogeneity and the conception of pedagogical differentiation. This book presents the theoretical foundations of pedagogical differentiation, the methodology of the qualitative survey, as well as the proven results and avenues for further reflection.
