Na Tailândia, cada cidadão tem uma formação diferente em inglês (Pruksanubal, 2006). No entanto, é provável que o ensino e a aprendizagem do inglês na Tailândia sejam ineficazes para produzir utilizadores tailandeses perfeitos do inglês. Os funcionários dos serviços de imigração devem ter conhecimentos suficientes de inglês para fornecer informações exactas e resolver os problemas dos turistas estrangeiros durante a sua estadia na Tailândia, mas deparam-se com problemas de expressão oral. O manual inicial foi concebido em 2010, mas não cobria as suas necessidades em situações da vida real com base na avaliação da formação em inglês.
