A monografia apresenta os resultados de estudos realizados ao longo de vários anos em solos cinzentos florestais e cumulolíticos (deluviais) erodidos, próprios das paisagens de transição-acumulação. São analisadas as particularidades do teor de formas brutas e compostos de Cu, Zn, Co, Ni, Mn e Fe nos solos das encostas e na vegetação. São apresentadas as regularidades da distribuição vertical em perfil e da migração horizontal, da absorção biológica, da sua entrada nos solos das agrocenoses, bem como da acumulação nas plantas. Foram estabelecidos os graus de contaminação dos solos erodidos por microelementos e o grau da sua toxicidade para as plantas. São apresentadas recomendações práticas destinadas a minimizar a entrada de microelementos e a melhorar a qualidade dos solos erodidos das encostas. O livro destina-se a especialistas nas áreas da edafologia, geoquímica, agricultura, ecologia e agroquímica, bem como a docentes e estudantes, com o objetivo de compreender a essência do comportamento dos microelementos e a sua influência no ambiente.
