Słodki ziemniak odgrywa znaczącą rolę w zwiększaniu bezpieczeństwa żywnościowego i dochodów ubogich rolników w Bangladeszu. Słodki ziemniak jest uprawiany głównie na marginalnych terenach Bangladeszu w okresie od października do lutego. Jest spożywany w różnych formach, np. gotowany, frytki i pieczony. Czasami jest również spożywany jako warzywo w curry. Łańcuch wartości słodkich ziemniaków w Bangladeszu nie jest dobrze zorganizowany. Niniejsze badanie zostało przeprowadzone w celu analizy istniejącego łańcucha wartości słodkich ziemniaków w dwóch wybranych okręgach Bangladeszu. Do doboru próby wykorzystano technikę kwotowego doboru próby, a dane pierwotne zebrano poprzez wywiad indywidualny (II), wywiad z kluczowym informatorem (KII) i dyskusję w grupie fokusowej (FGD) przy użyciu ustrukturyzowanych, otwartych i zamkniętych kwestionariuszy oraz listy kontrolnej. Do analizy danych wykorzystano proste statystyki opisowe. Głównymi uczestnikami łańcucha wartości w łańcuchu wartości słodkich ziemniaków są sprzedawcy surowców, rolnicy, lokalni handlowcy, sprzedawcy detaliczni i konsumenci.
