When receiving new information, each person perceives and processes it differently, and this system is called ’Learning Styles’. By understanding these different styles, better practices can be developed to aid teaching. The aim of this study was therefore to identify the predominant learning styles of engineering students from different periods (third and seventh) at an HEI, using the Felder-Soloman Learning Styles Index (LSI). The results showed, according to the average ILS responses, that the students have a slight preference for the following learning styles: active, sensory, visual and sequential.
