Le présent travail a pour objectif principal d’établir la composition chimique d’une huile essentielle (HE) extraite de Schinus molle (Faux poivrier), et d’évaluer ses activités insecticides, antioxydantes et antimicrobiennes. Le rendement de l’HE de Schinus molle affiche une moyenne de 2,64% de la matière sèche. Sa composition chimique révèle la présence de 97 composés. Les tests toxicologiques ont révélé une activité insecticide de cette HE contre une espèce de moustique et deux espèces de ravageurs des denrées stockées. De plus, le test de répulsion a permis de mettre en évidence le pouvoir répulsif de ce traitement à l’égard de Sitophilus granarius et Rhyzopertha dominica. Cette huile exerce une forte activité antioxydante et une activité antimicrobienne testée sur quatre souches bactériennes et une souche fongique.
