Der Mangel an Studien ist vor allem auf die hohe Hydrodynamik des Gebiets zurückzuführen, die es oft schwierig macht, Proben zu nehmen, insbesondere nachts. In dieser Studie wurden die zeitlichen und nächtlichen Schwankungen der Zooplanktonfauna in der Brandungszone eines dicht besiedelten Strandes an der Südostküste Brasiliens analysiert.
