Eksperyment miał na celu zmierzenie wpływu programów zaciemniania na tempo wzrostu i niektóre parametry krwi u kurcząt brojlerów. Sześćset piskląt Ross308 opasanych skrzydłami w wieku 1 dnia podzielono na cztery grupy , każda z 3 powtórzeniami. Pisklęta hodowano na ściółce zawierającej trociny. Pisklęta poddano czterem programom przyciemniania: Leczenie 1, stosowane jako kontrola (24 godziny światła + zero ciemności), Leczenie 2 (18 L + 6 D kontynuowane, gdy pisklęta osiągnęły 150 g), Leczenie 3 (1 godzina ciemności w 2. dniu, 2 godziny ciemności na początku 2. tygodnia, 3 godziny ciemności na początku 3. tygodnia, 4 godziny ciemności na początku 4. tygodnia i 5godzin ciemności na początku 4. tygodnia ). 4 . tygodnia i 5 godzin ciemnościna początku 5. tygodnia) oraz Zabieg 4 (1 godzina ciemności od 4. dnia do 7. dnia, 4 godziny ciemności od 8. dnia do 14. dnia i 6 godzin ciemności od 15. dnia do 30. dnia) 15 dnia do 30 dnia).
