Wśród gatunków lasów atlantyckich i amazońskich o dużym potencjale wyróżnia się Garcinia humilis (Vahl) C. D. Adam, który trudno rozmnażać in vivo, co utrudnia producentom wytwarzanie sadzonek o wysokiej jakości genetycznej i fitosanitarnej. W tym sensie uprawa in vitro tego gatunku może przyczynić się do rozmnażania wegetatywnego na dużą skalę, pod warunkiem że zostanie określony szczegółowy protokół. Jednak na uzyskanie protokołu rozmnażania in vitro wpływają różne warunki endogeniczne rośliny, a także warunki środowiskowe, na które jest ona narażona, na przykład różne pory roku (jesień, zima, wiosna i lato).
