L’Amazonie compte d’innombrables espèces végétales à fort potentiel économique, parmi lesquelles les arbres fruitiers se sont distingués en générant des revenus et de la nourriture pour la population. Ces espèces sont encore peu étudiées et leur principal obstacle est le manque de connaissances sur leur propagation, comme l’araçá-boi (Eugenia stipitata), dont le principal problème est la dormance de ses graines. L’objectif de cette étude était de réaliser une caractérisation biométrique, une germination et une étude des techniques conventionnelles et modernes afin d’évaluer comment surmonter la dormance des graines d’araçá-boi. Pour ce faire, trois expériences ont été réalisées : 1 - Caractérisation biométrique, courbe d’absorption d’eau et vigueur des graines d’araçá-boi ; 2 - Osmoconditionnement dans la germination des graines d’araçá-boi et 3 - Biospeckle comme outil auxiliaire dans la détermination de la viabilité des graines d’araçá-boi.
