Im Amazonasgebiet gibt es zahllose Pflanzenarten mit großem wirtschaftlichem Potenzial, unter denen sich Obstbäume als Einkommens- und Nahrungsquelle für die Bevölkerung hervorgetan haben. Diese Arten sind noch wenig erforscht und ihr Haupthindernis ist das fehlende Wissen über ihre Vermehrung, wie z. B. der Araçá-boi (Eugenia stipitata), dessen Hauptproblem die Keimruhe seiner Samen ist. Ziel dieser Studie war es, die biometrische Charakterisierung, die Keimung und eine Studie über konventionelle und moderne Techniken durchzuführen, um zu beurteilen, wie die Keimruhe von Araçá-boi-Samen überwunden werden kann. Zu diesem Zweck wurden drei Experimente durchgeführt: 1 - Biometrische Charakterisierung, Wasseraufnahmekurve und Vitalität von Araçá-boi-Samen; 2 - Osmokonditionierung bei der Keimung von Araçá-boi-Samen und 3 - Biospeckle als Hilfsmittel zur Bestimmung der Lebensfähigkeit von Araçá-boi-Samen.
