Im Bezirk Guntur im indischen Bundesstaat Andhra Pradesh wurden Nacherntekrankheiten und -verluste bei Zitrusfrüchten untersucht. Die Verluste lagen zwischen 14,73 und 34,96 Prozent, wobei sie bei den Großhändlern (3,7-5,67 %) am höchsten waren, gefolgt von den Einzelhändlern (5,24-11,99 %), auf Feldebene (4,29-5,67 %) und beim Verbraucher (1,50-1,67 %). Acht Pilzarten, nämlich Geotrichum candidum, Pestalotiopsis sp., Fusarium sp., Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Aspergillus sp., Rhizopus sp., Bahusakala olivacea nigra, Botrytis cinerea sowie zwei Bakterien: Xanthomonas sp. und Pseudomonas sp. wurden als Nacherntepathogene an Mandarinen, Süßorangen und sauren Limetten identifiziert, und die an diesen Früchten auftretenden Symptome wurden charakterisiert. Biologische Bekämpfungsmittel, nämlich Fusarium sp., Pestalotiopsis sp., Trichoderma viride und Cladosporium viride, wurden aus gesunden Blättern und Früchten isoliert. T. viride und Fusarium sp. erwiesen sich sowohl in vitro als auch in vivo als wirksam bei der Hemmung des Wachstums der meisten Nacherntepathogene.
