Przeprowadzono badania nad chorobami i stratami cytrusów po zbiorach w okręgu Guntur w stanie Andhra Pradesh w Indiach. Wynosiły one od 14,73 do 34,96 procent, przy czym najwyższy poziom odnotowano u hurtowników (3,7-5,67 %), następnie u detalistów (5,24-11,99 %), na polu (4,29-5,67 %) oraz u konsumentów (1,50-1,67 %). Zidentyfikowano osiem gatunków grzybów, a mianowicie: Geotrichum candidum, Pestalotiopsis sp., Fusarium sp., Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Aspergillus sp., Rhizopus sp., Bahusakala olivacea nigra, Botrytis cinerea oraz dwie bakterie: Xanthomonas sp. i Pseudomonas sp. zidentyfikowano jako patogeny powysiewowe na mandarynkach, słodkich pomarańczach i kwaśnych limonkach, a także scharakteryzowano objawy występujące na tych owocach. Środki kontroli biologicznej, a mianowicie Fusarium sp., Pestalotiopsis sp., Trichoderma viride i Cladosporium viride, zostały wyizolowane ze zdrowych liści i owoców. Stwierdzono, że T. viride i Fusarium sp. skutecznie hamują wzrost większości patogenów powysiewowych zarówno w warunkach in vitro, jak i in vivo.
