In questo studio il ricercatore intende esplorare i processi emergenti relativi al petrolio e al gas naturale nella Repubblica dell’Uganda e i potenziali impatti che tale esplorazione genererà sulla biodiversità e sui mezzi di sussistenza locali dell’Uganda. Il ricercatore affronterà questo argomento attraverso un’ampia ricerca sui quadri giuridici emergenti e attuali relativi all’ambiente naturale dell’Uganda e attraverso una ricerca pratica condotta presso le principali organizzazioni senza scopo di lucro dell’Uganda. Durante il processo di ricerca, il ricercatore ha lavorato come stagista presso International Alert. International Alert è un’organizzazione non governativa (ONG) internazionale che opera per promuovere la costruzione della pace e la risoluzione dei conflitti in oltre trenta paesi in tutto il mondo. Il ricercatore ha lavorato direttamente sotto la guida del ricercatore capo di International Alert nel settore del petrolio e del gas naturale presso la sede di Kampala, in Uganda.
