A incidência sazonal revelou que a população da praga variou de 0,51 a 3,20 larvas/planta, enquanto os danos nas vagens variaram de 8,93 a 36,26 por cento. O coeficiente de correlação da população larvar de M. testulalis na grama verde em Junagadh foi uma correlação positiva significativa com a temperatura máxima (r= 0,675*) e uma correlação negativa significativa com a velocidade do vento (r= -0,669*). Por outro lado, os danos nas vagens (%) apresentam uma correlação positiva muito significativa com a temperatura máxima (r= 0,747**), uma correlação positiva significativa com a luz solar intensa (r= 0,687*) e uma correlação negativa significativa com a velocidade do vento (r= -0,695*).O rastreio no terreno de diferentes dez variedades/genótipos de grama verde contra a broca da vagem revelou que o número mais baixo de larvas e de danos nas vagens foi encontrado em Meha (0,92 larvas/planta e 9,28 por cento de danos), que emergiu como resistente. Por outro lado, a K 851 foi altamente suscetível, registando 3,42 larvas/planta e 33,26% de danos nas vagens.Concluiu-se que a broca da vagem manchada, M. testulalis, atingiu um pico principalmente na terceira semana de outubro e foi eficazmente gerida pela aplicação de broflanilide 300 g/l SC ou spinetoram 11,7 SC durante a Kharif em grama verde.
