Sustainable development indicators are important tools in the process of measuring sustainability and are indispensable for understanding the reality, particularities, characteristics and applications of different systems. In other words, these tools provide an overview and greater connection between the components of sustainability, thus favoring progressive analysis by decision-makers. This is relevant because it provides better democratization of access to information, allowing society to take ownership of this knowledge and consequently incorporate sustainability issues into their daily lives. Concerns coupled with efforts in the scientific field have led to major initiatives aimed at resolving the correct management of solid waste. As a result, numerous methodological tools have been developed to analyze the correct management of solid waste using sustainability indicators.
