La Dalbergia sissoo (Roxb.) è una delle nuove specie introdotte in Iraq e nella regione del Kurdistan iracheno, e non esistono studi precedenti su questa specie, che è considerata una delle più comuni specie polivalenti, che merita una maggiore considerazione per le applicazioni di arboricoltura, riforestazione e agroforestazione e per il buon valore del suo legname, oltre che un’importante fonte di medicinali. Questo studio è stato condotto per coprire molti aspetti della crescita e dello sviluppo di questa specie, al fine di aumentarne il successo nell’ambiente iracheno, come il trattamento di pre-semina sul baccello dei semi, la data più adatta per la semina, il terreno di coltivazione più adatto per la migliore crescita delle piantine e l’effetto dello zinco sulla crescita e su alcune caratteristiche fisiologiche delle piantine.
