The aim of this work was to understand the relevance of strategic management in the process of recruiting and selecting candidates for sergeant training at the School of Sergeants of the Armed Forces (ESFA), in Boane, for the period 2022-2023. The study analyzed how recruitment and selection practices contribute to achieving the institution’s strategicobjectives , as well as the degree of alignment between the criteria applied and theorganizational goals. Methodologically, the research was descriptive and exploratory, using mixed methods, questionnaires and interviews with 30 military personnel (including sergeants, non-commissioned officers and officers).
