La présente étude reflète le rôle de l’un des plus beaux groupes de la vie aquatique, le benthos . Ces derniers sont moins coûteux et plus précis pour prédire le niveau de pollution d’une masse d’eau en raison de diverses sources. L’étude a été menée sur le lac Upper Lake situé à Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, dans le centre de l’Inde. Le lac est également reconnu comme site Ramsar, ce qui impose une surveillance continue de la masse d’eau.
