O livro descreve os projetos de gerenciamento de resíduos (PGRSS) produzidos em diversas unidades de saúde de uma Universidade Pública, sendo elas: Ambulatório Escola - Centro de Referência Regional em Prevenção e Tratamento de IST, HIV/Aids e Hepatites Virais, Laboratório de Anatomia e de Habilidades práticas, Unidade de Saúde da Família e Laboratório Clínico de uma Universidade Pública. Estes laboratórios funcionam como campo de aulas práticas e estágio para alunos de diversos cursos de graduação do curso de enfermagem, medicina, biomedicina e ciências biológicas. Trata-se da elaboração do Programas de Gerenciamento de Serviços de Saúde (PGRSS) produzidos para as unidades de saúde.Cada capítulo foi elaborado por alunos bolsistas de iniciação científica, sob a orientação de enfermeiros, farmacêuticos e biomédicos, com experiência na prática clínica e docência e, com a participação dos profissionais de saúde lotados nas unidades de saúde, portanto, envolvendo a toda a equipe multidisciplinar.Os artigos podem auxiliar os profissionais de saúde, como material instrucional para desenvolvimento do PGRSS de sua instituição, sendo este um modelo prático para sua elaboração.
