Ce livre explore l’impact des pratiques de rémunération sur la motivation du personnel de la Société Nationale des Chemins de fer du Congo (SNCC) à Lubumbashi, une entreprise publique à la fois stratégique et confrontée à de nombreux défis structurels en République Démocratique du Congo.A travers les perceptions des employés, l’ouvrage analyse le système de rémunération en vigueur (salaires, primes, avantages) selon trois critères fondamentaux: l’équité, la transparence et la pertinence. Il s’appuie sur des approches théoriques majeures de la motivation: Herzberg, Adams et Vroom, tout en tenant compte des réalités propres aux entreprises publiques congolaises.Les constats développés mettent en lumière plusieurs facteurs cruciaux de démotivation, notamment les bas salaires, les retards de paiement et l’opacité des mécanismes de rétribution.
