Play activities for the development of gross motor skills in children with Down Syndrome from 8 to 9 years old, is a research result that arises from the problem of the influence of play activities in the development of this skill in children with Down Syndrome (DS) of those ages in the AVINNFA Specialized Education Center, in the city of Milagro in Guayas. Hence, the objective was to determine the influence of play activities on the development of gross motor skills in these children, a significant issue in terms of the legal bases and concrete programs that are established in the effort of inclusion. For this purpose, a methodology based on the mixed approach was used, of an explanatory type and with exploratory features, because, even though there are precedent studies, it was considered to investigate objectively in the space of Special Education. The use of theoretical, empirical and mathematical methods provided the necessary theoretical foundation, as well as the corroboration of the problem and, in addition, the need for teachers to identify the characteristics of children with DS with more theoretical and practical amplitude.
