Onder een grote paddenstoel gaan schimmelnetwerken schuil die ondergronds de voeding leveren voor de groei van de paddenstoel. Mycorrhizzae worden die genoemd. Het is aan de hand van die metafoor dat Martijn van Schaik, practor aan het Da Vinci College in Dordrecht, de visie en aanpak van zijn practoraat beschrijft. Vanuit de praktijk met behulp van theorie zet het practoraat in op het helpen van teams binnen de sector Zorg en Welzijn. Analyses met behulp van de cultuurhistorische activiteitstheorie worden ankers uitgeworpen om koers te houden in de richting van een krachtige leeromgeving. Om zo de studenten te ondersteunen in hun verbinding van de praktijk van het beroep en de theorie in de opleiding.
