El propósito de la investigación es motivar a las comunidades del bosque tropical seco y tropical húmedo a implementar sistemas forestales de la especie Azadirachta indica (considerando que estas zonas reúnen las condiciones climáticas requeridas para un buen desarrollo de la especie) por sus variados usos (medicinales, repelentes) y por ser materia prima para la industria maderera de las comunidades de la región de la provincia de Santa Elena. El Ecuador es un país privilegiado por su ubicación geográfica, su biodiversidad, la riqueza de sus suelos y por el rápido crecimiento de su flora. Desde hace miles de años, cientos de especies vegetales se han adaptado a estos ecosistemas especies que no podemos perder y que es nuestro deber recuperar Según conclusiones de varios expertos el Ecuador tiene una serie de ventajas comparativas y competitivas para convertirse en una potencia forestal: • Su ubicación geográfica que permite disponer de una variedad climática. • La diversidad de especies maderables, mayor velocidad de crecimiento de especies forestales por tener hasta doce horas luz por día durante todo el año.
