As nanopartículas magnéticas têm atraído cada vez mais atenção devido às suas potenciais aplicações em muitos campos industriais, estendendo-se até mesmo ao uso em aplicações biomédicas, como sistemas de administração de medicamentos, implantes, biossensores, laboratórios em chip, aprimoramento de imagens, terapia hipertermica e assim por diante. Para melhores aplicações experimentais, as nanopartículas magnéticas são encapsuladas. O material de revestimento utilizado neste estudo é o pullulan. O pullulan é um expansor de plasma não tóxico e não imunogénico que é revestido com nanopartículas magnéticas. A acetilação do pullulan é realizada utilizando o método de Motozato e, juntamente com isso, foi preparado um gel magnético. As nanopartículas magnéticas revestidas com acetato de pullulan foram o resultado da combinação de acetato de pullulan e nanopartículas magnéticas pelo método de difusão de solvente. A amostra foi caracterizada utilizando XRD (difração de raios X), FTIR (espectroscopia de infravermelho por transformada de Fourier), SEM (microscopia eletrónica de varrimento), VSM (magnetometria de amostra vibratória) e DLS (espalhamento dinâmico de luz). Estudos de biocompatibilidade mostram a percentagem de viabilidade celular com diferentes concentrações de amostras. O material foi verificado quanto ao aumento da temperatura, variando o campo magnético e a intensidade do campo.
