Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) ist eine andere Art der landwirtschaftlichen Entwicklung, die darauf abzielt, biologische, nachhaltige und lokal angebaute Produkte herzustellen und gleichzeitig die Beziehung zwischen Verbrauchern und Produzenten zu stärken. Gartencoop in Freiburg ist eine CSA-Organisation, die 2011 gegründet wurde und aus 250 Mitgliedern besteht. Gartencoop möchte durch den Anbau von Gemüse auf nachhaltige und klimafreundliche Weise und die lokale Verteilung an seine Mitglieder ein Gemeinschaftsgefühl durch das Konzept der „Solidarwirtschaft' entwickeln. Die Mitglieder der Gartencoop müssen sich nicht nur finanziell beteiligen, sondern auch bei der Feldarbeit und der Verteilung mithelfen. Aufgrund der von den Organisatoren der Gartencoop festgestellten Schwankungen im Engagement und in der Beteiligung werden die spezifischen Faktoren, die die Mitglieder zur Teilnahme an den Feldarbeiten motivieren, zum Forschungsschwerpunkt dieser Masterarbeit.
