Die Vielfalt der pilzbildenden Pilze Zentralnigerias wurde in drei aufeinanderfolgenden Regen- und frühen Trockenzeiten untersucht. Die Pilze wurden morphologisch charakterisiert, wobei die Informationen in den Beschreibungsbögen für Pilze zusammen mit den Abbildungen in farbigen Feldführern verwendet wurden. Lebende Exemplare wurden an Ort und Stelle fotografiert und auch die fruchtbaren Seiten wurden mit einer Canon-Digitalkamera festgehalten. Bei den zahlreichen Streifzügen wurden sechs (6) Morphogruppen (Ascomyceten, Boletoide und Polyporus-Pilze, Korallenpilze, Lamellenpilze, Cortinarius-Pilze und Nichtlamellenpilze) in der Region gefunden. Auch dreizehn (13) Strukturtypen (Amanitoid, Armillarioid, Clitocyboid, Collybioid, Galerinoid, Lepiotoid, Mycenoid, Naucoriod, Omphaloid, Pleurotoid, Pluteotoid, Tricholomatoid und Vaginatoid) waren in der Region vertreten. Die Pilze der Region wurden in großem Umfang inventarisiert, isoliert und morphologisch identifiziert.
