Aleksandria jest drugim co do wielkości i drugim pod względem liczby ludności miastem w Egipcie. Różnorodność użytkowania gruntów, a także rosnące problemy transportowe powodują wiele konfliktów wynikających z interakcji między transportem a użytkowaniem gruntów (LUTI). Problemy te stały się ciężarem dla decydentów, ponieważ transport i użytkowanie gruntów są najważniejszymi kwestiami w planie miasta, zwłaszcza że istnieje niewiele badań dotyczących tego tematu. W związku z powyższym konieczne jest sformułowanie zaleceń dotyczących rozwiązania problemu LUTI. Temat ten ma ogromne znaczenie ze względu na obecny brak badań, a także skromną próbę pomocy w tym zakresie ze strony badacza. Niniejsze badanie odnosi się do interakcji między zagospodarowaniem terenu a transportem i omawia niektóre modele dotyczące tego tematu. Na poziomie badania przedstawiono prostą analizę historyczną i szczegółową analizę dotyczącą LUTI, więc badanie podzielono na dwie części: pierwszą część teoretyczną i drugą część dotyczącą wdrożenia.
