L’objectif principal de notre travail était de développer une méthode appropriée pour la micropropagation in vitro à grande échelle des variétés sélectionnées. Il est maintenant possible de cultiver des centaines de plantules par la méthode de la culture tissulaire. Cette étude a clairement démontré l’efficacité de la méthode de propagation in vitro de Furcraea gigantea. Les quatre différentes étapes de la technique de micropropagation standard ont été étudiées. Les conditions optimales pour l’établissement, la prolifération, l’enracinement et l’acclimatation ont été normalisées, ce qui a permis une multiplication plus importante. On estime qu’en utilisant cette technique, il est possible d’obtenir des plants de 10 à 12 cm de hauteur pour le transfert sur le terrain.
