A principal ênfase do nosso trabalho foi desenvolver um método adequado para a micropropagação in vitro em larga escala das variedades seleccionadas. Atualmente, é possível cultivar centenas de plântulas através do método de cultura de tecidos. Esta investigação demonstrou claramente um método eficiente de propagação in vitro de Furcraea gigantea. Foram trabalhadas todas as quatro fases diferentes da técnica de micropropagação padrão. Os requisitos óptimos para o estabelecimento, proliferação, enraizamento e aclimatação foram padronizados, o que resultou numa maior multiplicação e estima-se que, utilizando esta técnica, é possível obter plântulas de 10-12 cm de altura para transferência para o campo.
