Questo progetto illustra una metodologia per lo sviluppo di un modello 3D delle crepe generate in prove di brillamento su piccola scala. Per ottenere il modello 3D, il campione brillato viene tagliato in diverse sezioni. Quindi viene applicato un colorante penetrante alle superfici tagliate per intensificare i tracciati delle crepe. Questi tracciati vengono quindi utilizzati per creare modelli 3D digitali in AutoCAD. Grazie alla visualizzazione della rete interna di crepe è possibile descrivere come e dove si formano le crepe. È possibile identificare le famiglie di fessurazioni in base agli angoli, alle lunghezze e all’origine e determinarne le caratteristiche in termini di densità delle fessurazioni e densità delle intersezioni. Il metodo di quantificazione delle fessurazioni proposto mostra che, se i blocchi vengono fatti esplodere con tempi di ritardo diversi tra le file e i fori, maggiore è il tempo di ritardo, maggiore è il numero di fessurazioni, più omogenea è la distribuzione delle fessurazioni radiali attorno al foro e maggiore è il danno nel blocco. Pertanto, l’influenza delle fessurazioni nella roccia circostante può essere studiata utilizzando diverse condizioni di brillamento.
