In diesem Sinne zielt die vorliegende Untersuchung darauf ab, eine Analyse des Marketings in Universitätsbibliotheken vorzunehmen und insbesondere das Marketing zu konzeptualisieren, indem ein historischer Überblick bis zum heutigen Tag gegeben wird; Universitätsbibliotheken im heutigen Kontext zu definieren; und den Wert des Marketings durch den Einsatz seiner Praktiken in Universitätsbibliotheken zu überprüfen und zu zeigen, wie es angewendet werden kann.
