È fondamentale formare cittadini per il XXI secolo tenendo conto dei cambiamenti apportati dalla tecnologia. Come risultato del prodotto educativo intitolato Il modello delle barre come alleato nell’uso delle tecnologie digitali dell’informazione e della comunicazione nell’insegnamento e nell’apprendimento della matematica per il 5° anno, elaborato secondo la linea di ricerca in Tecnologie informatiche per l’insegnamento delle scienze e della matematica dell’Università Cruzeiro do Sul, questo studio si propone di analizzare come avviene l’integrazione delle tecnologie digitali dell’informazione e della comunicazione (TDIC) nell’insegnamento e nell’apprendimento della matematica nel curriculum dei primi anni di scuola in Brasile e a Singapore, nonché se sia possibile adattare alcune esperienze di Singapore alla realtà dell’insegnamento brasiliano. A tal fine, viene utilizzato il metodo qualitativo di natura esplorativa e descrittiva, basato su dati della letteratura nazionale e internazionale, partendo da una revisione sistematica e ampliando i contributi sul tema attraverso la ricerca di articoli e tesi nella banca dati Portal de Periódicos da Capes e Google Scholar pubblicati negli ultimi cinque anni, oltre a documenti ufficiali a sostegno dei dati sulle politiche educative.
