Le travail présenté ici est le résultat d’une recherche bibliographique, motivée par de nombreuses questions sur la grammaire traditionnelle, son histoire au cours de ses vingt-trois siècles d’existence, ainsi que son applicabilité dans les écoles, et plus particulièrement en ce qui concerne l’enseignement de la langue portugaise. L’objectif de cette recherche n’est pas d’approfondir l’histoire de la grammaire traditionnelle, mais simplement de relater quelques moments importants de son histoire et de son utilisation aujourd’hui. Au cours des vingt-trois siècles, la grammaire traditionnelle a souvent revêtu un caractère philosophique et normatif. Cet ouvrage n’a pas pour but d’explorer l’étude de la grammaire normative utilisée dans nos écoles. Il se contentera de présenter des idées sur son utilisation, dans le but de stimuler la réflexion sur l’enseignement des langues à l’école, en proposant une stratégie possible pour rendre l’enseignement plus significatif pour les élèves.
