As a young child growing up, I always had a love for dogs and considered those I have been around for a given period of time my best friends. That love was carried over to my adult years without hesitation. Children will appreciate knowing the love and companionship a dog can give them. As far back as 1953, I give thanks to Bob Merrill and Patti Page. Bob Merrill wrote the lyrics to the song 'The Doggie In The Window' and Patti Page sang the song. This song has been a part of me for years. I received my first dog when I was in first grade. From my experience as a youngster, a dog is truly man’s best friend.
