Daniela Wühr analysiert Dynamiken der Innovationspraxis in der Investitionsgüterindustrie. Dabei beleuchtet sie das nicht immer reibungslose Verhältnis von Innovationsarbeit und Innovationsprozess sowie die Herausforderung für die Branche, ihre Innovationsprozesse zu standardisieren und gleichzeitig Flexibilität zu ermöglichen. Ihre empirischen Befunde zeigen Ursachen und Folgen der widersprüchlichen Anforderungen an Innovationsarbeit und ordnen diese theoretisch ein. Dabei spielen das informelle Arbeitshandeln der Innovationsakteure und die Auseinandersetzung mit neuen - formellen - Organisationsstrukturen in der Produktinnovation eine zentrale Rolle. Auf Grundlage der Ergebnisse entwickelt die Autorin einen neuen Erklärungsansatz für Belastung und Umgang mit Ambivalenzen im Arbeitsprozess auf der konkreten Arbeitsebene.
