La investigación analiza la relación que existe entre las habilidades blandas (HB) y la inserción laboral (IL) de estudiantes de Ingeniería Mecatrónica (IMCT) en el Instituto Tecnológico de Ciudad Juárez. Se destaca que muchos profesionales no trabajan en su área debido a la falta de oportunidades. Datos como el mencionado por OCCMundial (2018), donde 5 de cada 10 profesionistas no ejercen en su especialidad, respaldan esta preocupación. Además, se revela que el 88% de los encuestados sienten que sus estudios contribuyen a su desarrollo laboral, pero el 55% ha cambiado de especialidad por falta de oportunidades y el 34% por falta de planeación profesional. El INEGI informa que, hasta el tercer trimestre de 2019, 5 millones 422 mil profesionales trabajan fuera de su campo, representando el 54% de los empleados.Los empleadores demandan habilidades técnicas (HD) y blandas (HB). Aunque las habilidades técnicas se enseñan formalmente, las blandas se adquieren de manera informal y se consideran esenciales. Sin embargo, los estudiantes de IMCT no las desarrollan conscientemente como parte de su formación académica.
