The marked increase in concentration of CO2, methane and other greenhouse gases has increased the global temperature during past few decades. An increase in global temperature and precipitation has increased the proliferation of vector borne diseases in plants and animals including human beings. He served a Head, Dept. of Botany during 2008-2013. Dr. Arya is a recipient of Young Scientist award of DST, New Delhi in 1986. He has guided numerous research projects funded by DST, CSIR, DBT, ISRO, MoEF and UGC.
