Das Gebiet Mnanka liegt innerhalb des Musoma Mara Greenstone Belt in der Nähe der Goldminen Nyabigena, Gokona und Nyabirama. Das Gebiet Mnanka besteht aus einer Abfolge von vorwiegend rhyolithischen Vulkangesteinen, Hornstein und metasedimentären Gesteinen. Die Goldmineralisierungen im Gebiet Mnanka sind strukturgesteuert und treten hauptsächlich als hydrothermale disseminierte intrusionsbezogene Lagerstätten auf. Daher sind die vorherrschenden beobachteten Strukturen Klüfte und Fließbänder. Messungen von Fließbändern, die mit der Software win-TENSOR auf Stereonetzen aufgezeichnet wurden, haben eine Schätzung für den allgemeinen Streich des Gebiets ergeben, das zwischen 070° und 100° liegt und einen durchschnittlichen Neigungswinkel von 70° bis 85° aufweist, während Daten von Klüften, die auf Stereonetzen aufgezeichnet wurden, auf mehrere Deformationsereignisse hindeuten, von denen eines mit dem Ostafrikanischen Riftsystem übereinstimmt (Streich WSW-ENE, NNO-SSW und N-S).
