Die Frage der Verwendung von Muttersprachen in der Schule und im Bereich der Alphabetisierung ist nach wie vor Gegenstand zahlreicher Kontroversen. Angesichts der oft klar getrennten Positionen zwischen Befürwortern der Einführung von Muttersprachen in der Schule und denen, die darin keinen Sinn sehen, scheinen die Meinungsverschiedenheiten und die Kluft immer größer zu werden. Für eine wirksame Aufwertung der ivorischen Sprachen kann man sagen, dass es höchste Zeit ist, von Klagen zu konkreten Maßnahmen überzugehen. Denn alles, was man sagen konnte, um die Nichtverwendung dieser Sprachen im Unterricht zu beklagen, wurde bereits gesagt. Unter anderem wurde das Recht des Kindes auf Bildung in seiner Muttersprache angeprangert, das garantiert werden muss. Dies umso mehr, als der Gebrauch dieser Sprachen von Beginn der Schulzeit an den Erwerb von Grundkenntnissen durch das Kind erleichtert. Offensichtlich sind Juristen der Ansicht, dass der Unterricht in ivorischen Sprachen einem Gebot der sozialen Gerechtigkeit oder ganz einfach der Gerechtigkeit entspricht.
